Our Servant Leaders

Shepherds entrusted with the care of this household.

Daniel Simmons

Daniel Simmons

Pastor

Daniel grew up in the great city of Cincinnati, Ohio. His parents were faithful models of the faith, helping lead him to Christ at a young age. As a teenager, his love for music gave birth to a music career with the band All the Day Holiday. At the age of 21, after a dark season of sin, God broke in and brought a new level of surrender, joy, and zeal for Jesus that began a new journey toward global missions and pastoral ministry.

Daniel served as an associate pastor in Cincinnati for several years before moving to Minneapolis to pursue further biblical education at Bethlehem College and Seminary. While studying, he discipled High School students, did outreach to International Students, and also ministered in South Asia on several occasions.

At that time, he also met his wife, Kate. She faithfully serves alongside him and raises their five children, Day, Phineas, Glory, Shepherd, and Marigold. Daniel and his wife are certified Biblical Counselors through Christian Counseling Education Foundation (CCEF). Daniel served as a full-time staff pastor of All Peoples Church before launching Light House Church in 2025.

They enjoy hosting in their Roseville home, exploring and eating good food, playing board games, making music and anything that involves outdoors or dancing with their kids.

Dale Gruber

Dale Gruber

Pastor

Dale was blessed with wonderful Christian parents. He was homeschooled as the youngest of five in Stillwater, MN. But at the age of 16 years old, his eyes were fully open to Jesus as he was radically discipled by his youth pastor. He was a sinner and yet eternally loved by God in Christ. He was moved to tears with a joy greater than anything he had ever known. Immediately, Dale felt a burning desire to help people know Jesus.

He served in the youth group and worship at that church. After graduating, he studied the Bible at Bethlehem College & Seminary. In 2011, a freshman in college, he married his junior-high sweetheart, Hannah Gruber. He's crazy about her! In college, they joined a church plant with a big vision for all-of-life discipleship and Jesus. Dale eventually became a lay elder. After that church dissolved, they joined All People's Church, and Dale eventually joined as a lay pastor. They served in that church until launching Light House in 2025.

Their family has grown since 2018. Despite losing two children to miscarriage, they are richly blessed with their daughters Hayden, Aurelia, Juniper, and Beatrice, and their son James. Hannah is a rockstar wife, mother, and homemaker! Dale owns a manufacturing business with his brother in Lake Elmo, MN.

They enjoy hosting in their Stillwater home, cooking, music, sports, reading and all the beautiful plants Hannah nurtures.

How we are led

Pastors: Light House Church is joyfully led by Daniel Simmons and Dale Gruber, called and sent by All Peoples Church.

Our Pastoral Covenant — We serve according to the biblical guidelines for pastor/elders defined in our pastoral covenant.

Pastoral Accountability: We believe healthy leadership requires real accountability. Daniel and Dale partner with and are accountable to a body of city elders in The Twin Cities who are available to provide outside oversight, counsel, and correction:

  • Sam Choi
  • Ross Tenneson
  • Dave Widerski
  • Scott Hubbard
  • Michael Patterson

If anyone in our Body — or anyone in our broader community — ever has a concern about Daniel or Dale's leadership, that concern is welcomed to be brought to these city elders, who will investigate. Our community has committed to submit to any unanimous decision they make.

Fathers: We believe each family in our community is led by its own father. Each father carries primary responsibility for integrating his children into the life of the Body, leading his family in daily Bible reading, worship and prayer, serving his family communion when appropriate, and being his family's voice as we test prophecies, make decisions, and keep our commitments to one another.

Who else we are connected to

Beyond our family tree, we are gratefully connected to others as well.

The Send Network — the church-planting network of the North American Mission Board.

1000 Houses — a national network providing coaching and support to house churches.

Like-minded churches in the Twin Cities — we worship and partner with believers across the metro.
