We aren't the beginning
A long line of faithfulness.
We are great-grandchildren.

All Peoples Church planted us.
Our launch team spent eight years actively engaged as members of All Peoples Church in Minneapolis. Daniel and Dale were pastors. Many of our kids were born during our time at All Peoples Church. We love APC and praise God for its irreplaceable role as our mother church.
We began All Peoples Church with a vision to glorify God by multiplying worshippers of Jesus and healthy churches in the Twin Cities and beyond. We had a vision not to grow taller as a church but to multiply further through church planting. Light House Church is the firstborn church of APC. We are honored and proud to continue that story. We hope to be merely the next generation who stewards the gospel unto the following generation, by the grace of God.
We also praise God for the team at Cities Church for planting APC and being our direct connection to the regional SEND Network team. They have blessed us consistently.
We give praise to God for Bethlehem Baptist Church and Bethlehem College and Seminary. Our pastors, as well as many of our members, are alumni of BCS. We thank the Lord for the biblical training and passion for the supremacy of Christ that Bethlehem has entrusted to us.
We are also so grateful for the older saints of Lebanon Lutheran Church. They donated their building in S. Minneapolis to All Peoples Church when we were homeless and in need of a place to gather for worship. Those saints grafted us into their 100-year-old story of faithfulness. APC continues to meet in that building, and many of the Lebanon members are now members of APC. What a gift those brothers and sisters have been!
Who we are
We are a group of people who have been rescued by Jesus and have found true life, joy, and peace in Him. We follow Him in all of life. We are devoted to His Word. We are committed to His ways. We want to share the good news and help more people follow Jesus.
And we do this together as His church family.
Our mission as a church is to be a Disciple-Making Community — not a group of people who attend a worship service.
How we began
Light House Church was launched in 2025 as a household expression of the Body of Christ, planted out of All Peoples Church in South Minneapolis. Daniel Simmons and Dale Gruber, who had both served on staff at All Peoples, sensed God's call to begin a house church in Roseville that would multiply healthy households and, in time, healthy churches across the Twin Cities and beyond.
We gather on Sundays in the Simmons home, and we strive to equip every household in our Body to be a hub for mission and community right where they live.
Our vision and mission
Our vision is to glorify God by multiplying worshipers of Jesus and healthy churches in the Twin Cities and beyond.
Our mission is to follow Jesus in everyday life and help all kinds of people do the same.
Our core values
We hold four core values as a rule of life under the lordship of Jesus Christ — ordered from the inner life outward toward the world.
Be with the Father. A healthy heart in repentance and faith, sustained by habitual communion with the Father in the Word and in prayer.
Love Your Family. Healthy households engaged in faithful ministry to one another according to each member's God-given role.
Love His Family. Healthy households engaged in faithful ministry to the local church according to each believer's spiritual gifts.
Make Disciples. Healthy households linked with the household of God to disciple individuals and other households into maturity in Christ.
How we are led
Light House Church is led by Daniel Simmons and Dale Gruber, supported each year by an apprentice family who is growing into greater leadership in the Body.
We believe healthy leadership requires real accountability. Daniel and Dale partner with and are accountable to a body of city elders in Minneapolis and Saint Paul who provide outside oversight, counsel, and correction:
- Sam Choi
- Ross Tenneson
- Dave Widerski
- Scott Hubbard
- Michael Patterson
If anyone in our Body — or anyone in our broader community — ever has a concern about Daniel or Dale's leadership, that concern is welcomed to be brought to these city elders, who will investigate. Our community has committed to submit to any unanimous decision they make.
We believe each family in our community is led by its own father. Each father carries primary responsibility for integrating his children into the life of the Body, leading his family in the Bible Reading Plan, serving his family communion when appropriate, and being his family's voice as we test prophecies, make decisions, and keep our commitments to one another.
Who else we are connected to
Beyond our family tree, we are gratefully connected to others as well.
The Send Network — the church-planting network of the North American Mission Board. As a Send Network church, the Baptist Faith and Message (2000) is our primary statement of faith.
1000 Houses — a national network providing coaching and support to house churches.
Like-minded churches in the Twin Cities — we worship and partner with believers across the metro.
We are a self-governing, autonomous spiritual and legal entity, but we are never alone.
Where we're going
We want to see the gospel of Jesus transform lives, households, cities, countries, and the world. We want to see the glory of God cover the earth like the waters cover the sea. We want to see every knee bowed before the King of kings and every heart worshipping His name.
We believe the household is one of God's primary instruments for this mission. So our prayer is that, year after year, the households at Light House would mature, multiply, and one day plant other healthy churches — house churches and traditional churches alike — in the Twin Cities and beyond.
Just as we received the gospel from a long line of faithfulness, we hope to pass it on faithfully to the generations that follow.
